Enrolment Steps

What I need to enrol

We recommend enrolling from home using your personal smart phone, laptop or home computer to enrol online because your place of work may restrict access and prevent online enrolment from working. You will need:

your passport or immigration documents or three alternative UK identity documents (birth certificate, NI letter, Photo ID, for example a driving licence)
a debit/credit card to pay fees yourself or email a copy of a sponsor letter from your employer with the invoice addresss and amount they will pay on your behalf to Student Records (fees)

Login to your Swansea University account

When your application was confirmed you should receive an email with your Swansea University user name, for example 1234567@swansea.ac.uk and a second email with a temporary password and instructions how to change your password and setup multi-factor authentication, normally by downloading "Authenticator" to your smart phone.

If you cannot login phone our IT Service Now helpline 441792 295500 open Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm.

Right to study

The first step of enrolment is to confrm your identity and right to study at a higher education provider:

UK or Irish learners can upload a UK or Irish passport page with your photo or three alternative UK identity documents (birth certificate, NI letter, Photo ID, for example a driving licence). When your upload is verified by the Student Records Office the right to study tab will be "ticked" to indicate this step has been completed.
International or non-UK/Irish residents with settled status, please email a copy of the passport page with your photo making sure you include your student number to Student Compliance services and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

After the right to study check is completed, the next steps should take 10-15 minutes.

Enrolment declaration

In the next step "sign" online to share data for services and agree to:

Consent to share data and our data protection statement
Abide by the University's Academic Regulations for your course
Agree to pay fees or have sponsorship to pay on your behalf

Personal data

Verify and update personal data, your addresses, contact details, equality and diversity and other details HE providers are required to collect by the Welsh Government.

Module selection

Check the module(s) you will be studying on your course is correct.

Fee payment

You can pay by debit/credit card securely. If you have problems making a payment browse How To Pay Fees

If your employer or other sponsor is paying on your behalf email Student Records (fees) a sponsor letter with their invoice addresss and the amount they will pay. We will email you when the details are recorded and you can complete fee payment.

Last step

When you tap the Finish button you should see a message on screen and receive an email confirming you have successfully enrolled.

Accessing My Uni account and apps

My Account

Your IT account gives you access to University apps, for example your email, Intranet (enrolment, student record, timetable), Canvas (online module and course content), eVision RMS (research student progression).

MySwansea App

You can enrol via the app and is your home for all things Swansea University, including emails, timetables, campus maps and much more. The MySwansea App is easy to use. Once downloaded, just enter your university login details to get started.

How to upload your UK or Irish passport

Have a clear scanned image to upload of the page containing your photo and personal information (place of birth, passport number etc.) only. No other pages will be accepted. Please do not include the page opposite the photo page as this reduces the image quality. We accept jpeg or png file types with a max file size of 100MB.

Login to your MyUni account, click on the Intranet app and Start Enrolment button.The first tab is “Right to Study” where you upload your passport.

Complete each field:

Upload an image of the page containing your photo and personal information

Passport Number - This can be found on the top right of your passport and is 9 characters in length.

Name - The name needs to match the name that is on your passport. Please ensure you enter all names displayed.

Issue Date and Expiry Date - Please select the dates from the date picker, ensure these dates are correct as this could prevent you from collecting your ID card.

Passport Nationality - The nationality cannot be changed as this is retrieved from your personal details and should match with your passport. Please select “Yes” from the drop down if your nationality is correct. If not please select “No” and follow the instructions.

Place of Issue - Enter the place of issue as displayed on your passport

Country of Birth - Select from the drop down the country of birth displayed on your passport.

Place of Birth - Enter the place of birth as displayed on your passport.

Staff will verify the uploaded image is of good quality. If the image is rejected you will need to re-upload an image to complete the right to study step.

Remember to bring your passport when collecting your University ID card. The passport image you upload must match the passport you present in person.

Fee payment

The last step of enrolment is paying your fee or having a student finance loan, bursary, scholarship or grant in place to pay on your behalf.

Funded students

If you have a 100% student loan or University bursary, scholarship or grant to pay your tuition fee on your behalf then you will not need to make a payment when you enrol online.

If you have other sponsorship, for example an embassy or employer or trust is paying towards your fees send a Confirmation of Sponsorship form or sponsor letter by email to studentfinance@swansea.ac.uk and the Student Records Office will email you when the details are recorded and you can complete online enrolment.

Self-funding students

In the fee payment step of online enrolment you can:

Pay by card 100% of a UK home fee or set up a direct debit to pay later in three instalments. For September entry, the first direct debit payment is due 1 November.
Pay 50% of an international overseas fee by card or use Convera to make an international payment. For September entry, the first international fee payment is due at enrolment.

Withdrawal for non-payment

It is very important to have sufficient funding to pay for your studies on time and avoid the risk of being withdrawn from the university. For details of when to pay browse payment schedules and deadlines.
