Introduction for Research Students
The University provides clear and concise information for all students, about the rules and regulations related to your study including specific academic and general University regulations, policies and procedures. The University’s Academic Regulations govern our programmes and are supported with helpful Guides. They are important and you will need to refer to them throughout your degree to achieve success.
Research Degrees will support your development as an independent researcher. They are very intensive, focussing purely on the research needed to explore your chosen topic (which must be an original research idea). By the end of your degree you will have developed and enhanced transferable skills such as problem-solving, independent thinking, project management and critical thinking. Although these are intensive programmes, the resulting qualification is recognition of the hard work and commitment you have shown, and of the new skills, techniques and knowledge you have learnt.
