Clubs and Societies
C is for Clubs and Societies!
No matter what you’re interested in, it’s likely we have a society or sports club to cover it! Joining a society or club is the perfect opportunity to make friends, boost your cv, take part in an activity you love or even learn something new.
Freshers’ Fayre on the 27th and 28th of September at Swansea Bay Sports Park will be where you can meet all our sports and societies and sign up!
Doctors and dentists
Taking a few minutes to register with a Doctor and Dentist is one of the most important things you can do once you arrive in Swansea.
Imagine having to travel all the way back home with toothache just to get it sorted... Don’t risk it, register as soon as you can!

Enrolment
Enrolment is a crucial first step when you arrive or return to Swansea,
To make sure you can fully engage in your studies, take a look at our enrolment web pages where you’ll find information on how to complete the process, important dates and answers to any enrolment questions you may have.
It is essential to enrol as nsoon as possible in your enrolment timetable so you can start engaging in your studies. You will be emailed when enrolment is open for your course, so please make sure you check your emails!
Finances, fees and funding
There are lots of practical things to consider when starting University and fees and finances are one of them!
You can use the Pre-Arrival Money Checklist to help with your financial plan and take a look at our funding pages to make sure you’re accessing funding and support available to you.
It is very important before you start your studies with us that you ensure you will have sufficient funds available to pay for your studies; from initial registration through to completion. These pages explain why, and what you need to do if your circumstances change.
Groceries
Groceries, grub, food, snacks, refreshments… We have plenty of places to eat on campus!
You can even download the Uni Food Hub app from apple or android app stores to view and order from our online menus!

Key collection
K is for key collection...
We hope you are excited to shortly be moving to your Swansea accommodation! To collect your keys to your accommodation, you will need a copy of your Tenancy Agreement to show to staff upon request.

MyUniHub is your first point of contact for all queries outside your faculty! Yep, the friendly team can help you with pretty much everything from enrolment to graduation! They’re available in person at Singleton and Bay campuses, over the phone, by email, and via online chat. So, if you don’t know who to speak to, get in touch with MyUniHub!

Neighbours
N is all about neighbours and being a good one! If you’ll be living in the off-campus community, introduce yourself to your neighbours; be they student or otherwise. If you feel comfortable, leave some contact details so that your neighbours can let you know if there’s an issue, rather than allow it to escalate.
Become part of the community within which you live and be proud of it!
Officers
As a student, you are represented by the 6 elected Full-time Officers and 10 Part-time Officers who work in partnership with the University to make sure you have the best possible student experience!

Postgraduate study
Here in Swansea, we offer award-winning postgraduate study. From master's degrees to PhD study, we offer postgraduate programmes in a wide variety of subject areas. Whatever you decide to do after your degree, we’ve got you covered!
Reps
R is for Rep! Did you know that every course is represented by an Academic Subject Rep? The Rep listens to students, collates feedback and helps to improve the student experience. Here at Swansea University, we want you to have your say!
Students' Union
As a Swansea Uni student, you’re automatically a member of the Students’ Union. Through the Union, you can join a society or sports club, become an Academic Rep for your course, get advice and support, and attend some huge events like Varsity and Summer Ball.
Travel
Travelling to and from campus couldn’t be easier! First Cymru's Campus to Campus Services link both Swansea campuses to the city centre. There are loads of ticket options available to you, and you can get huge discounts on them if you apply for a My Travel Pass first.
We’re also lucky enough to have a bike rental scheme here in Swansea, with bike hubs on Singleton and Bay campuses. The bikes make it so easy to get around and explore the city. You can even get a discount just for being a student!

Volunteering
There are so many fun activities for you to get involved in at Swansea, and the onsite student-led volunteering charity, Discovery, is the perfect place to start. Volunteering with the team is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and take care of your mental health whilst making a real difference to the local community.
