Your first steps

Login to My Account using your Swansea University user-name and password to access your applications and enrol. You will be advised via email when to access your account. 

Your temporary password will be sent to you in a separate email.

The emails also have instructions on how to log into your account, change your temporary password and register for Self-Service Password Reset. For more information about accessing your account, passwords and authentication browse Your Account

If you require further assistance, please contact the IT Service Desk.  Please note that for calls relating to account security, you will need to phone us on 01792 604000 so that we can verify your identity.

You will need to Upload a photo for your student ID card by logging in to the intranet. We will then have your card ready when you arrive.

We also need you to register your proof of identity and nationality to confirm your right to study, tuition fee status and eligibility to receive loans/grants and Council Tax exemption. For details browse the Right to Study Registration section on our enrolment page.

It is essential to enrol by the course start date in your enrolment timetable so you can start engaging in your studies. You will be emailed when enrolment is open for your course, so please make sure you check your emails!

It is important to consider your financial plan before enrolling onto your course, and ensure you are accessing the funding and support available to you. Use the Pre-Arrival Money Checklist to help with your financial plan, and please remember that Money@CampusLife are available to answer any student money related queries.

We understand that you have so much to think about when preparing to leave home to move abroad (often for the first time)  so International@CampusLife are here to help you prepare as fully as possible for your new life in Swansea. You can find step by step information on our dedicated webpages.

Your health is important to us, therefore we ask you to:

• read the health and welfare informationto make sure everything is in place in case you need help
• register with a GP (doctor) - Health Centre registration
• register with a dentist - Dental surgery registration

Vaccinations: If you are aged between 17 and 25 years old and are coming to university for the first time it is important that you receive the new Men ACWY vaccination before you arrive. You can receive the vaccine by calling your GP and arranging an appointment.

Make sure that your MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) vaccinations are also up to date before coming.

Please bring records of the vaccination dates with you to register with a Swansea GP (this information will be available from your home GP or your Local Health Authority Childhood Immunisation Department).

Please note that protection against these diseases is not effective until 10 days after the vaccination.

If you feel that you may need support at Swansea University but haven’t yet disclosed a disability or specific requirement, please complete our Student Support Questionnaire.

Not only do the Students’ Union put on some amazing events throughout the year, but they can support you in joining a Society or Sports Club, and give you help through their amazing Advice and Support Centre.  

There are six elected Students’ Union Full-time Officers who represent you for all things Uni-related, as well as a Student Voice team who help make sure you are heard. 

The team even run a number of shops and bars for you to check out when you get to campus!  

Whether you need support with a disability, help in a crisis, or just want to find someone to talk to, we have a service to help you.

We strongly discourage you from bringing a car with you to Swansea University – student parking on campus is extremely limited and reserved for those with medical reasons or excess travel needs.
