Supplementary (Resit) Exam Periods

If you do not pass a module at the first attempt, you may be required to sit a supplementary assessment. These are in-person only – remote sittings are not available – and attendance is compulsory.

Key Dates

• International Students: Supplementary assessments are held at the end of each semester.
• Please keep this in mind when booking travel or personal plans, as you must attend in person if you have resits.
• Home (UK) Students: Supplementary exam period runs 3 August – 14 August 2026.
• Please factor this into holiday, work, and personal commitments, as you must attend in person if you have resits.

Why This Matters

• If you fail a module, you must be available to sit your resit exam in person during the relevant period.
• These dates are fixed and cannot be rearranged around personal plans.

Top Tips

• Make a note of both the main exam dates and the supplementary exam periods.
• Factor these into your travel, family, work, and holiday plans early.
• Remember that there may be additional costs for travel (and possibly accommodation in Swansea) if you need to sit supplementary assessments.
• Speak to your personal tutor if you are unsure how this may affect you.

Easter Opening Information

Please note that Swansea University College does not close for an Easter holiday. Unlike some other institutions, teaching and services continue as normal during the Easter period.

The College only closes on official UK Bank Holidays.

Students should therefore ensure that any travel or holiday plans are made only during official closure dates or outside of teaching commitments.
