The Faculty of Science and Engineering Employability Team are dedicated to supporting all students in the faculty to achieve their career ambitions by providing 1-1 CV and interview guidance, delivering a variety of Employability events, whilst also promoting a range of opportunities directly to students.
The team collaborates extensively with a variety of employers ranging from small businesses to larger multinational companies to provide students with opportunities to interact with prospective employers. The variety of Employability events delivered by the team include:
- Employer Talks – hear from professionals working in your field of interest to discover career opportunities, receive advice on application processes and ask questions.
- Employer in the Foyer – have an informal chat with representatives from a variety of organisations. Ask questions about opportunities which may be available for you and learn more about what an organisation does.
- Mock Assessment Centres – applying to participate in a Mock Assessment Centre will provide you with an opportunity to experience what it would be like to be involved in this part of the recruitment process in a risk-free environment.
- Careers Fairs and Employability Skills Day – the team organise larger Employability events which will provide you with an opportunity to build professional skills such as networking, taking part in mock interviews, and discovering career pathways you may not have considered before.
The Employability team also organise the administrative process for Year in Industry placements within the faculty and can provide advice and support throughout the programme to ensure you are able to make the most of this valuable work experience opportunity.
