Originally I am from Oxford however I undertook my undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science and my Masters in Human and Applied Physiology at the University of Portsmouth. During this time was competitively swimming for the university and regularly going to the gym. Since moving to Swansea my spare time around my PhD is now spent being as active as possible by going to the gym, running, pilates and regularly exploring the beauty of Wales. My ambition is to continue my area of research to help support military personnel in operations around the world.
BEING A SUBJECT REPRESENTATIVE
I want to help and support other students within the department to grow and develop their skills to use in the wider world following their studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Bring the group together for more social activities to develop a more social environment for students and academics to be part of.
MY CURRENT STUDIES...
My area of research is in environmental physiology, where I aim to support military personnel prior to and during deployment to hot environments. My favourite part of my PhD so far has been exploring new pieces of specialised equipment and learning about all the interesting adaptations to the heat.
