I grew up in Cardiff, where biology, chemistry, art and design were my main interests in school. I love pilates, the beach and shopping. My main ambition is to have exciting career in a field I am very interested in as well as travelling around the world to different places.
BEING A SUBJECT REPRESENTATIVE
During my school years, I would have loved to see more Women in Engineering role models. I am eager to take on the role of student representative to actively promote and support the inclusion of women in the field of engineering. I believe there is still a significant gender gap in this industry, and I am passionate about addressing this issue and encouraging/inspiring young girls interested in pursuing engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
As a student representative, I hope to actively contribute to improving the overall student experience. Specifically, I hope to listen to fellow PGR students, relay any issues or challenges for students in the department, advocate for improvements to the student experience and provide support where I can.
MY CURRENT STUDIES...
I completed my undergrad in Biomedical Engineering and am now completing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. I enjoy combining my biomedical background with the technical design element of mechanical engineering. I have also had an interest in medical robotics and devices, surgical instruments, medical design and product development. My PhD allows me to explore and develop a range of new skills and carry out exciting experiments.
